How to Start a Healing Journey: The Black Woman's Step-by-Step Guide

Seemingly at the height of the Pandemic more and more people became “Aware.” Aware of their true feelings about their jobs, relationships, friendships, themselves and for some even their marriages. With all of this awareness, the emergence of therapy, healing and ending situations, places and people became prevalent. Therapy and talking about ones feelings became the norm for women at least.

Nevertheless, if you don’t know where to start on a healing journey, or how to start over or pivot. I am here to help. It took me several years to learn and accept the lessons that life was teaching me. I wrote about it in detail here

I’ve listed 13 steps in my book in the link above. However, the first three steps are pivotal to starting your healing journey.

Step 1. Be completely honest with yourself and take a look within (Get a journal or a spiral notebook) and reveal your feelings about every area of your life. If you need help analyzing yourself ask the trusted members of your inner circle.

Step 2. Find a Therapist. After you have identified you pain points, talk to a professional therapist who will help you organize your thoughts.

Step 3. Do The Real Work. The work is all about being responsible for your personal development and healing your past traumas. The work entails; journaling, reading personal development books, meditation, writing out a specific plan and taking action behind the plan, putting yourself first and much more.

Always remember that: You deserve a life of love, ease and pleasure
