Does a Modern Day Boaz Exist? God, Where is my Boaz?
If you are apart of a Black Christian Church or a Southern Baptist Church, women were told to look for a Boaz or a (God Fearing Man). In the year of 2024 and beyond, women are still looking for Boaz! Your pastor has sold you a dream that may not exist. Waiting on Boaz is the equivalent of Morris Chestnut’s long lost identical twin brother “Norris” randomly saying “excuse me Miss” while you're out running errands. Norris is tall, fine, handsome, rich, generous and sweeps you off your feet. Yes! It happens for a few women, but for the mass majority of women, their perfect guy Boaz, doesn’t exist! Boaz had a lot of great character traits which is most important when looking for a partner, however, he was a senior citizen.
Facts about Boaz:
- He was wealthy.
That’s definitely a woman’s dream come true to date or marry a wealthy man. There is a big difference between someone who is rich and wealthy. However, most people have the tendency to confuse the two.
- He was generous and kind.
When looking for a partner these are two great character traits for a man.
- He was old, an elder to be exact.
Words are powerful! The dominant things that you speak over your life will come into existence. If you are waiting for Boaz to find you, it’s possible but maybe he hasn’t turned 80 years old yet.
It's past time for us to get out of Fairy tale land and stop having faith in fables, allegories, satire and Santa Claus. It's time to take a real assessment and decide what are the most important characteristics to have in a man, how we want to live a life with a man and realistic expectations from a man. We have to also consider how he was raised, what are his values, his ideals of a partner and how the two of you can combine your expectations to make a marriage that the two of you designed work.
So, does your modern day Boaz exist? Or should you simply look for a man would good character and it's a bonus if he so happens to look good. Or will you continue to wait for a man from the Bible?
